Shareholders cleared the final hurdle for Evernorth’s public debut, approving the company’s merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II. The Ripple-backed firm will begin trading October 8 with approximately 473 million XRP tokens on its balance sheet, making it the largest pure-play XRP treasury to enter public markets.
The SPAC route hands Evernorth a direct path to exchange listings while sidestepping the roadshow circus of a traditional IPO. More importantly, it puts a publicly traded wrapper around what amounts to a single-asset bet on XRP at scale. Four hundred seventy-three million tokens. No Bitcoin hedge, no Ethereum diversification, no stablecoin cushion.
A Ripple-Backed Play With One Hand on the Wheel
Ripple’s backing isn’t window dressing. The payments network has spent years building rails for XRP utility in cross-border settlements, and parking this much XRP in a public vehicle signals confidence that institutional appetite exists beyond the usual crypto-native funds. Whether that thesis holds depends on regulatory clarity that still hasn’t arrived. XRP won its SEC battle in the district court, but the broader question of token classification remains open.
Evernorth’s treasury dwarfs most crypto equities. It’s a concentrated position in an asset that trades with its own idiosyncrasies, disconnected from Bitcoin’s four-year cycle and Ethereum’s DeFi momentum. The token has utility arguments baked in, Ripple’s ODL corridors, the theoretical friction savings in correspondent banking, but those narratives have yet to translate into sustained institutional accumulation outside Ripple’s own ecosystem.
Public Markets Meet Single-Asset Risk
October 8 will test whether public equity investors want exposure to XRP specifically or whether they’d rather own Coinbase, MicroStrategy, or an ETF wrapper. Evernorth isn’t a software company with token revenue or a miner with diversified treasury management. It’s a vehicle, and vehicles live or die on the underlying asset.
The SPAC structure doesn’t change the risk profile. It simply makes it transparent and tradable. If XRP rallies, Evernorth’s shares will likely follow. If XRP stagnates or Ripple faces renewed regulatory scrutiny, shareholders absorb the downside with no operational business to cushion the blow. That’s the trade. Four hundred seventy-three million tokens, public pricing, and no hedges in sight.
